Who are my Pain Management Specialists?

Our highly-qualified pain management specialists have a well-established practice at Blue Mountain Hospital: Rolf Jarnes and Rod Carpenter are your partners in pain relief.

They are Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists (CRNA s) and have advanced training from AANA Jack Neary Advanced Pain Management.

Rolf and Rod specialize in Lumbar Facet, Intralaminar, Transforaminal (selective nerve root block), and Sacroiliac Joint interventional pain management methods as well as treatment for hip, knee, and shoulder pain.


Rod Carpenter

Rod grew up in John Day and left to complete his education and gain experience in his field. He returned to his Grant County roots in 2012 and lives with his wife and four children in John Day. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and skiing in his spare time.


Rolf Jarnes

Rolf joined Blue Mountain Hospital in 2008 and lives in Canyon City with his wife. When not working for the hospital, Rolf can be found snow and water skiing, biking, kayaking, hiking, camping, or woodworking.
