BLUE MOUNTAIN HOSPITAL DISTRICT is accepting applications for Mammographer (Casual/PRN) for critical access hospital. Competitive wage package.

Mammographer operates digital equipment and performs various mammography related procedures. Evaluates the images for technical quality such as density contrast, definition, and distortion. Explains procedures and educates women about the role of regular mammography in preventive breast health. Responsibilities also include preparing and maintaining records and files, and cleaning and adjusting equipment as needed. Familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Responsible for the development and implementation of a sustained Blue Mountain Breast Health Program is of prime concern. This position works closely with the Diagnostic Imaging team and other departments in order to provide complete patient care.

The individual in this position will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of Diagnostic Imaging along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

REPORTS TO: Radiology Director

Required: Radiological Technologists (RT) to have a current license from the Oregon Board of Medical Imaging AND be certified in mammography by the ARRT; American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in Radiography (R) and Mammography (M).
Initial certification in mammography per FDA MQSA.
Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider (HCP) level to be completed within three (3) months of hire.

Preferred: three years' experience in the mammography field.

Qualifications of Radiographer in Diagnostic Field
In addition to those qualifications set out in ORS 688.465, applicants for licensure as a radiologic technologist in the diagnostic field must: Submit evidence of current credentialing by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) in radiography. The Board will verify current credential status through review of the ARRT directory. If the applicant is not listed in the current ARRT directory, he or she must request written verification of current credential be submitted directly to the Board by the ARRT.
