Data Entry Clerk (Temporary - Special Project)

BLUE MOUNTAIN HOSPITAL DISTRICT is accepting applications for DATA ENTRY CLERK (TEMPORARY - Special Project). Competitive wage and training provided.


Data Entry Clerk will perform duties assigned by the Business Office Manager. Data Entry Clerk will perform office support functions, use computers and other office equipment such as scanners, copiers and fax machines. Data Entry Clerk should have a proficient understanding of Excel with the ability to read and comprehend an insurance remit. Multi-tasking, self-motivation, organization skills, and the ability to work in a fast-paced production-oriented environment are required. Actively participates in the department's performance improvement and continuous quality improvement (CQI) activities.


Promotes the mission, vision and values of BMHD.
Demonstrates the ability to prepare Excel reports.
Ability to accurately collect report data from insurance remits.
Organizes and maintains patient records and hospital district files.
Complies with all applicable hospital district policies and procedures.
Communicates appropriately and clearly to the Business Office Manager and co-workers.
Demonstrates the ability to be flexible and organized in stressful situations.
Manages and operates equipment safely and correctly.
Supports and maintains a culture of safety, quality and professionalism.
Any additional duties pertaining to the daily operations of the Business Office as assigned by the Business Office Manager

Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.

Establish & maintain solid working relationships with communication, cooperation, and positive interactive with all employees, staff, patients and physicians.


REPORTS TO: Business Office Manager

Required: High School Diploma or equivalent
Intermediate Microsoft Excel working with spreadsheets and/or data entry. Clerical and Office experience in hospital or healthcare environment. Working knowledge of electronic medical records and electronic healthcare systems.

Required: None
Basic Life Support (BLS) certified by American Health Association (AHA) MUST maintain current BLS certification and recertify prior to expiration date.


Required: Basic computer knowledge and ability to type 50 words per minute with accuracy.
Preferred: Ability to read and comprehend an insurance remit, electronic medical record, and working experience in medical office setting or hospital.

Able to communicate effectively in English, both verbally and in writing.
Additional languages preferred.
